During August 2018, the Territory welcomed a wide-bodied aircraft charter flight of Japanese tourists from one of Japan’s largest travel wholesalers, JTB World Vacations. The charter carried approximately 357 passengers over two flights – from Darwin to Narita, Japan and return – and was worth an estimated $600,000 in visitor spend to the NT.
Launched in October the NT Now campaign will run until 30 September 2019. NT Now is a collaboration with Holidays of Australia (HOA) to convert travellers to visit the NT this spring, presented on a new online ‘deal focused’ platform. NT Now’s portal will take a creative approach to attract visitors to the NT with a headline capturing NT NOW – the NT’s hottest deals NOW!
The NT will feature on Trip Advisor showcasing its range of unique, unexpected experiences and value for money adventures. The campaign will drive conversion, increase visitation and encourage regional dispersal.
Cooperative campaigns are also underway in the US, UK, Italian and French markets.
