Project Update

Hundreds of cars and their entourages arrived in Alice Springs from all over Australia to celebrate all things wheels at the 2018 Red CentreNATS event hosted over the Father’s Day weekend.

$650,000 was invested to upgrade the Alice Springs Inland Dragway. This upgrade saw a new Burnout Pad, improved fencing and facilities that enhance the spectator experience and safety for both the burnouts and drag racing competitions which will attract more events and visitors to the Territory.

The 2018 entertainment program was bigger than ever with Saturday night “Rock N Rumble” concert featuring ARIA award winning national act The Veronica’s supported by Dr Elephant.

The Podium Party was an expanded event at Blatherskite Park with all ticket holders and entrants invited to attend the presentations, music and entertainment. Matt Mingay and his Hot Wheels Stuntz team and an expanded Father’s Day program also provided a weekend of entertainment for all the family.

A 3-day Chrome Pass to access everything across the weekend remained great value at $50, with day passes also available and all children 13 and under free.
